This senior leadership role is responsible for setting organisational strategy, policies, and standards while providing day-to-day executive direction across construction, project delivery, finance, sales, and corporate functions.The General Manager will work closely with senior leadership and departmental heads to ensure business objectives are met, profitability is maximised, and high standards of governance, quality, and efficiency are maintained across all residential, commercial, and SDA projects.<hr>Tasks &amp; Responsibilities<ol><li>Develop, implement, and endorse organisational policies, standards, and strategic objectives to support business growth and long-term success.</li><li>Provide day-to-day executive leadership and direction to the organisation, ensuring alignment with company goals, performance targets, and profitability objectives.</li><li>Assess changing market, operational, and regulatory conditions, responding decisively by issuing clear directives to senior management and key staff.</li><li>Consult with departmental heads across construction, finance, sales, human resources, and operations to optimise methods of operation, resource allocation, and equipment requirements.</li><li>Authorise and oversee funding for major projects, initiatives, and policy implementation programs, ensuring financial discipline and return on investment.</li><li>Represent the organisation at official events, negotiations, industry forums, seminars, public hearings, and stakeholder meetings, acting as a key liaison across areas of responsibility.</li><li>Prepare, or oversee the preparation of, strategic reports, budgets, forecasts, and performance reviews, presenting them to governing bodies and stakeholders as required.</li><li>Select, lead, and manage the performance of senior staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.</li><li>Oversee key business functions, which may include accounting, sales, marketing, human resources, and other specialist operations, ensuring integration and operational efficiency.</li></ol><hr>Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline.</li><li>Minimum 9 years’ experience as a Construction Manager, General Manager, or Senior Operations Manager within a construction company or project-driven environment.</li><li>Proven senior leadership experience in overseeing construction operations across residential, commercial, and/or SDA projects.</li><li>Strong capability in strategic planning, policy development, and organisational leadership.</li><li>Demonstrated experience managing financial performance, budgets, forecasts, and profitability outcomes.</li><li>Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.</li><li>Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage senior staff performance.</li><li>Sound understanding of governance, risk management, WHS, and regulatory compliance within the construction industry.</li><li>Results-driven mindset with the ability to adapt to changing market and operational conditions while driving continuous improvement.</li></ul>
